Direct School Admission (Secondary)

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics covers areas such as Aerospace, Coding, Computational Thinking Skills, Design, Technology and Engineering (DTE), Environmental Science, Infocomm, Mathematics, Robotics, Science, Scientific Investigation, Steam and Stem. DSA-Sec provides a pathway based on interests, aptitude and potential, beyond PSLE performance. In general, schools may consider a child’s talent, potential, passion and character through school track record and the online DSA application. Examples include doing well in mathematics or other relevant school-based achievements, activities and awards. Shortlisted applicants may attend interviews, auditions or trials. Each school sets its own selection process.

Preparing for this talent area

Families typically build a sustained STEM CCA or project record and organise relevant school-based and non-school-based awards, activities and achievements. Where a school uses interviews, auditions or trials, a shortlisted child may need to attend in person; selection processes differ by school. The application allows related entries. sgdsa lists centres for related classes. Meeting criteria does not guarantee an offer.
